A heartfelt thank you to those who participated, helped, and visited An Artful Affair.  It was a great success and I was thrilled to meet many new patrons of the local art scene.  I wish you a glorious fall and hope to see you again next year!

Second Annual Artful Affair!

I have been spending so much time in the studio!  It has been one of those creative periods where I hate to get up and leave the bench.  As a result I have lots of new pieces for An Artful Affair this Saturday and I am really pleased with their evolution....My new favorites are the 36" long linked pieces that can be doubled or be made any length based on where you attach the lobster claw clasp...Versatile and bold!  Pop in if you get a chance!

An Artful Affair 2011

The Greater Westmoreland Creative Collective is pleased to announce its second annual trunk show, "An Artful Affair 2011", on Saturday, October 1st, from 10 to 4 p.m., in Greensburg, PA.

"An Artful Affair" is intended to celebrate local artistry and to honor Pennsylvania's long heritage of fine handcrafted goods. In a world filled with "fast, cheap and disposable", the GWCC and "An Artful Affair" are dedicated to providing only quality, high value, and unique creativity to those who can truly appreciate them.

Our artists also have a strong commitment to the three R's (Reuse, Repurpose, or Recycle) and you will find that many of their works reflect this important environmental sensibility.

Please join us for a day of tantalizing tea, delightful delectables, and amazing art as we showcase local artists, craftsmen, designers, jewelers, and organic products.

In the Pink

So with the change of season comes new motivation and excitement to create for the upcoming Artful Affair, October 1, 2011.  These new pieces carry a ballet inspired theme...Soft colors, twinkling stones, graceful balletic styles, and of course a return to some ultra classic designs. They will be available soon at the Spoonwood Gallery, details to follow!

William Wordsworth Longfellow and a cup of tea on an icy morning was the inspiration for the new bouquet pieces...The thought of spring this time of year is what really gets us through  these cold gray days!  I hope you enjoy these whimsical new designs with Lucite flowers and sparkling Swarovski dew drops.
